My wife Amy was giving me the update on the Coleman-Franken senate race this morning (summary: nothing has changed), and I have an idea for a new situation comedy.
The premise is that two candidates for a Senate seat have deadlocked (something like what’s going on above). But since this is fiction, we’ll make it much simpler. Everything has been counted, and they have exactly the same number of votes. In the spirit of post-partisanship, a benevolent Barack Obama (face never shown, like George Steinbrenner on Seinfeld) encourages them to share the senate seat. After some debate, the Democrat and Republican candidates agree to accept this arrangement.
Maybe they can be roommates, too. I don’t know?
Hijinks ensue.
So, a sort of “odd-couple” meets “Hannity & Colmes” meets “the West Wing.” Maybe?
I will be accepting offers to produce a pilot episode. Check preferred.
love it. if you need a writer, let me know…
