Besides the relatively unlikely instance of a government office using an Apple (unless this scene took place in Chloe’s home) this shot from 24 also features the somewhat disconcerting feature of having an invalid IP address… fun.

Yeah…silly. But I guess it is possible that they are simply avoiding the use of someone else’s actual IP…pretty good odds against using a valid IP already in use, but better safe than sorry…?
Weird - 24 has very much been a Dell shop up until now. Have they switched to Apple for Day 6?
@Gapp: good thought, but I don’t buy it. They could have used a private network range, for example, anything between 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255, and would not have had to worry about it being someone’s “real” IP address. I guess technically, it would be several hundred thousand “real” IP addresses, but none of them available from the internet, per se. In fact, using a private IP would have been almost the only way to make it realistic; a computer on either a corporate/gov’t network, or even at home behind a router, would almost certainly have an address in the private IP range…
Hey, if we’re going to be geeks, we might as well call it like it is… ;)
@mrben: Not sure; this is my first season watching 24 — I don’t catch a lot of TV and I’ve been kind of daunted at the prospect of catching up on 5 seasons of episodes. I caught the beginning of this season, though, and I have to admit I’m hooked. I guess I’ll have to add the various 24 seasons to my netflix queue… :)
