Google has added a feature; observing your own trends in your personal search history; you need to be logged in to your Google account, and if you’ve had Personalized Search turned on, you can see some trends. It’s a sort of individualized Google zeitgeist, if you will.

Fedora has had this new logo for a while, I think, but this is the first time I’ve seen it added to their website.
Even if you don’t use Windows, you have probably had to spend some time dealing with spyware or adware; chances are, if you at all a technical person, you’ve been asked by a friend or a family member to help them with their PC. Possibly you work in the tech support field, and since that space is still dominated by Microsoft Operating Systems, you’ve probably come face to face with more than one malware infestation.
If you ever have occasion, willing or not, to have to deal with malware, you may find the following list of programs will help you out.

Gentoo is for ricers? No, I don’t think so. If I were interested in speed, I’d be pretty annoyed. Oh, it responds as well as any other good Linux distro… but compiling things. That takes a long time!
Updating the whole system took the better part of yesterday. That did not include OpenOffice, which I elected to upgrade separately. So far, OpenOffice 2.0 has been compiling for a good 10 hours.
I suppose if I had to use it, this would bother me, but I don’t need it right now. I’m looking forward to seeing OOo 2.0, I hear good things about it.
Seagate to buy Maxtor for $2 billion.
Well, I thought it was interesting.
So, I will be presenting my final project in class tonight for C++.
I originally had grandiose ideas for a sudoku creating/solving program as a final project; a little tinkering with this made me realize that it’s not exactly a trivial undertaking, no matter that the concept itself is fairly simple. The turning point came when I compared the suggested project ideas, all of which were rather simple.
I decided not to make more work for myself than I needed to.
I wrote an unremarkable C++ program which implements inheritance through a few classes and sub-classes. This was one of the suggested programs, and while there isn’t much to it, it’s just an introductory class. I’ve no idea if I’ll be doing anything with C++ in the future or not, but I’m glad to have gotten my feet wet, at least.
Also, this means that the semester is over. Woohoo.
The Web 2.0 Validator is a pretty good joke.
